South Congress Engagement Session

Ashley & Jay have been together for over 10 years!! They’ve met in college, fell in love and never let go of each other. Then, last winter, in a ski trip in Colorado, with their friends, Jay did what NO ONE was expecting and asked Ash to be forever his girl - seriously, they showed me the video where all their friends were saying “omg, what the f*** is happening??” It was hilarious! So, could it get cuter? The answer is yes! They were staying at an Airbnb where the hosts even celebrate with them with four bottles of champagne, and they still keep in touch with that family! I know, SO SWEET, right??

It got even sweeter when Ash’s sister, who knows me, asked if I could photograph them while they were in town, and as always I said “heck yes!”. They loved going to bars and going out when they first met, so one of Ash’s ideas for their session was to be fun and flirting, and a urban/bar setting would be perfect! All the bars in the area charged a fee to be used as scenario for photos, so she preferred taking photos in the streets of the cute South Congress neighborhood in Austin (Texas). What an amazing idea!! As we walked around the avenue looking for cool walls and spots to give their engagement shoot vibes as fun as they are, we stumbled across an outside seating area of a bar where we were welcome to stay, so there we finished our session with all the flirting that reminded them of those old college times so well!
