Couples Session in New Orleans, LA
I love traveling, that’s one of the things that drove me to become a travel destination photographer in Colorado, coming all the way from Brazil to Denver, stopping by in many places in between. In one of these moments of traveling, I visited New Orleans with some friends and as I announced I was visiting, a dream inquiry came my way: Two Julias wanted a couple session at Garden District in NOLA!
First of all, how cool they’re both named Julia? Second, one of them is also a photographer in New Orleans, so she was down to walk around the lovely Garden District neighborhood with me and her girlfriend while I got to capture their fun best-friends like love.
From running around the cute streets and seeing the gorgeous French-Spanish inspired architecture in New Orleans to catching the streetcar (that I very quickly learned are not called the “trolley” as I thought it was!!) we had so much fun together and it all made want even more to get back to New Orleans!
I’m here to document love in all of its form and shape, and when Julia shared with me their emotional struggles to be a LGBTQ+ couple in the south, it first broke my heart but it also made me feel so grateful to have a career that allows me to show what I believe in and to make a little difference in a couple’s life giving them memories that will last longer than any predicament they might go through in their lives, and remind them their love is stronger than anything. So yeah, please don’t ever doubt, I’m here for love and if being a LGBTQ+ friendly Denver Photographer allows me to create for everyone and show that love matters in all of it’s form, let me do that for the rest of my life!
